Accurate Conception Planning
As Antonia revealed in her video interview about her experience of pregnancy, she found it very easy to conceive – something she is extremely grateful for, as she knows only too well how some couples struggle with this.
Antonia attributes her fertility in part to her healthy lifestyle, and in part to accurate conception planning, and in this blog, she reveals her secret: the Justisse Method of Fertility Awareness. Of course, “secret” is the wrong word, as this is information that every woman should have access to from the time she reaches puberty.
As with many things in life, timing is everything when it comes to falling pregnant. However, most of the apps and other conception planning methods available fail to take account of the fact that every woman’s body is different, which means that every menstrual cycle is different. Ovulation can occur on almost any day in the cycle – not just the “guaranteed” day 14.
Whether you and your partner are wanting to start a family, or this is something you’d rather put off until exactly the right time, being able to track your fertility accurately is vital. The Justisse Method focuses on getting to know and appreciate your wonderful, unique body, and read its signs.
As Claudia Slattery of Butterfly Wings, South Africa’s only Justisse Holistic Reproductive Health Practitioner, says, “Your fertility is at your fingertips”. As she has with many other women (and mothers), Claudia was able to help Antonia work out exactly when she was at her most fertile.
In just a few moments a day, measuring your morning temperature and looking for the presence of cervical mucus gives you all the information you need to chart your fertility using coloured stamps. As your understanding grows, you’ll realise that you are in control of your fertility – and it’s a wonderfully empowering sensation as a woman and a would-be mother.
The Justisse Method has multiple benefits: it removes much of the uncertainty and anxiety from the joyful (and let’s face it, fun!) process of procreation, and it’s far less expensive than IVF treatment (or any form of contraception, for that matter).
You’ll learn more about your body and what makes it special and gain control over one of the most sacred and profound experiences a woman can have. If you’re ready to become a mother, then it’s time to “stop, look and listen” to your body, because every fluctuation, every little change and natural nuance of your cycle is trying to tell you something.
The Justisse Method is the end of feeling confused or lonely as you try to track your fertility. Listen to your body now, and in just a few months you could be listening to the beat of a new little heart that you’ve created.
